STARS from hit reality TV show The Only Way is Essex hit the beach in chilly Walton this week.

The trashy Brentwood-based show headed for the Sunshine Coast in the depths of winter to film.

But any red-blooded males hoping to catch a glimpse of luscious Lucy, leggy Lydia and curvy Chloe were left disappointed.

Instead of a Baywatch-style beach babefest they had to make do with Arg, Joey Essex, Mario, Diags and Mark who stood around shivering in the bitter cold.

"They're not doing a great deal at the moment," said one onlooker.

"They're just walking along the beach, looking cold."

Bosses at the award-winning show were staying tight-lipped about the plotline.

The Walton episode is expected to hit screens on Sunday evening.
