POLICE are hunting a robber who threatened three men at knifepoint on New Year's Day.
The late-night attack took place in Walton at 2am yesterday.
An 18-year-old student was approached by a man in Walton Road who threatened him with a knife before demanding his wallet and mobile phone.
The student managed to run away but the robber then targeted two of his friends who had been following him.
They also escaped leaving the robber to flee the scene empty-handed.
Investigating officer DC Bernardette Lord said: "Although nobody was injured, it has clearly left the young men very shaken and upset.
"At this stage, we don’t have any motive for the attack other than a possible robbery.”
Anyone with information should contact Clacton police.
