WE are trying to find a kind lady called Kelly, who lives near Tesco who helped a gentleman called John outside of Clacton Iceland on October 6, at around 1pm in the afternoon. Kelly stayed with John while he waited for the ambulance. If this is you, or you know this person, then please get in touch. Please call us on 01255 812742.

IT has been highlighted in the news over the last few days how much our home fuel bills will rise. We need to take action to help keep them as low as possible yet keep warm. A man interviewed on the lunchtime news in this regard, only wore a shirt and trousers. Surely, a jumper or extra layer would be sensible?

Maybe people could send in ideas to you on how to save and keep warm. It might be surprising what comes out of it.

LIKE Terry Allen (Letters, October 20) I was sad to hear of the death of Iain Sproat. He was MP in 1992 for Harwich the same year my late husband, Lionel Randall, was chairman of Tendring Council. We got to know him quite well going to the same functions in that year. He was always friendly and a very nice man.

I AM pleased to announce the Kirby Fete is in the process of giving away £8,000 to 21 local good causes and the recipients will be receiving their cheques in the very near future. Thank you the public for your continued support and generous contributions.

I NOTICED a couple of people on mobility scooters recently. Both were about the same age, mid-40s, and about 15-20 stone.

Are they disabled or have they bought these mobility vehicles so they don’t have to walk anywhere? I wondered if there was any control from either Government or the medical profession as to who buys these vehicles, and if not, why not?

You wouldn’t sell drugs to a drug addict, so mobility scooters shouldn’t be sold to fat people, they need to stop eating and start exercising.

HOW this once-great country lacks a strong leader and some proper statesmen.

All we seem to get are jumped-up arrogant, patronising yuppie whi kids and so-called economics experts with degrees that are completely worthless, without an ounce of common sense or a grasp of the real world. The average ten-year-old could sort out the problems better. If something is not done soon, this country will sink completely into the abyss.
