JAYWICK has been categorized as the most deprived area in England.

The condition of some of our properties, poor healthcare, inadequate medical resources, and alcohol and drug dependencies are, I believe, higher than in the majority of other areas.

Crime and anti-social behaviour is always present and residents are intimidated on many occasions.

Essex County Council and Tendring Council cannot decide on the way forward for parts of our community and have refused to invite elected members and a representative from the Jaywick Community Forum, to participate in discussions as to where to go and what to do.

We have another winter on our doorstep and major issues within our area that require sorting.

This I believe needs to be carried out specifically for the Golf Green Ward, as a matter of urgency. Three years ago, we were at number three on the most deprived list.

Nothing was put into place at that time, and as far as we know, still nothing is in place now.

It is now time to start to discuss our area with all the groups available to come to a conclusion of satisfaction for everyone.

Not to involve the local community representatives is negative, and would result in the problems experienced several years ago when thousands of pounds were wasted on a consultation company which, in my opinion, didn’t bring the residents into the discussions.

All three proposals were rejected.

We do not benefit from being in a political arena, with issues being kicked around and no solution found.

Questions have been asked recently about progress, but no indication or advancement of the Task Force has been reported.

We also need assistance from residents of Grasslands and Brooklands and their community groups to join in with the negotiations.
