REGARDING the front page of the Clacton Gazette on October 6, (2,000 new homes for town site). In the same edition, there were 19 pages of properties for sale. I guess that’s only a percentage of the properties for sale in the area. Why build more if the existing properties cannot be sold? Besides, there are not the facilities in the area to cope with this, they are stretched now.

THE Friends of Frinton Theatre would like to thank all the people who came to the quiz night on October 13. A magnificent £509.18 was raised. Thank you to all the helpers and to Joan Beatton for compiling the questions.

DARE I say it - but with regard to Robert Lewis’ letter (October 20), no I do not think Old Road playing field a good location for Clacton football club. Old Road gets congested enough with traffic.

Can you imagine the cars etc, crowds of people and extra police work? Football grounds need to be as far away from residential areas as possible.

THANK you for the article you published on October 13. We got a good response, better than was thought, and the problem has now been resolved. I am now able to update the web site and the gentleman who very kindly offered his assistance has given me his telephone number for any further problems.

The Clacton Area Crime Prevention Panel really appreciates all the publicity and help that the Gazette has given us over the past years.

IF you want to help the beggars that have turned up on our streets, then give them food for their dogs, don’t give these people money to waste on cigarettes and alcohol. Their dogs have, without any fault of their own, been unfortunate enough to have these people as their owners, and its such a shame as what life do these innocent dogs lead?
