AN announcement that Jaywick would be featured on the Channel 4 Programme The Secret Millionaire was made in church on Sunday morning.

Later, that evening, I sat and watched about two minutes before switching off.

I am not a prude (I served an apprenticeship in a light engineering factory, so heard expletives used all the time), but I abhor this current trend where many, regardless of where they are, “pepper” their conversation with expletives. I personally don’t care how financially rich the fella was - he is an extremely poor excuse for a human being and I’m afraid that I was not at all impressed.

Others, who managed to endure this, told me that it was the same throughout - some reflection for Jaywick.

How can we expect youngsters to conduct themselves in a moral way when people such as this are promoted on television?

If he came to my door, no matter how much money he’s got, I would throw some cold tea bags over him and tell him to wake up.
