THE search has begun to reward Tendring’s top sporting stars for 2011.
The awards for individuals, teams, coaches and volunteers – which are now in their seventh year – are once again up for grabs.
There will be four categories with 16 trophies to be handed out on November 15, at the Princes Theatre, Clacton Town Hall.
The Tendring Sports Personality Awards are a partnership between Tendring District Council (TDC), activetendring and the Colne School Sports Partnership and the event is once again sponsored by the Clacton, Frinton and Walton Gazette and the Harwich and Manningtree Standard.
Sportessex holds the Essex County Awards later in November and this feeds into the BBC East Region Sports Awards, which in turn feed into the BBC Sports Awards in December.
The closing date for nominations is October 17.
Nomination forms are being emailed out to sports clubs and schools and will also be put on the sports development page of the council website, www.tendringdc.gov.uk All entries must be accompanied by details of the nominee’s successes and achievements.
All individuals must live in Tendring and all organisations and clubs must be based in the district.
