A MAN has appeared in court charged with gunning down a man outside a St Osyth house.
Darren Jewell is charged with the murder of Anthony Prickett, 42, who died from gunshot wounds outside his home in Park Road last Thursday.
Jewell, 36, of John Street, Brightlingsea, also faces four charges of possessing firearms and ammunition.
He did not enter a plea when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
His case was sent to Chelmsford Crown Court for another hearing today when a decision will be made whether to continue to remand the accused in custody or grant him bail.
