The band has been playing with their current line-up since Dean joined Matt and Jonny as drummer in spring 2009. In this time they have reached the regional finals of the 'UK Live & Unsigned' competition and played support to the US band 'Sorry And The Sinatras' on part of their UK tour. The opportunistic trio write and play music from every angle of the genre, making them a popular act with any crowd and are now preparing for their debut EP launch.
Formed in 2004/5 as a four-piece act, the band eventually assumed the name Hi Jack in 2006, becoming a three-piece group in the process. During a spell of two years, Matt and Jonny collaborated with various drummers, in which time they were able to write a wealth of material. In 2008 the best of this material was recorded as rough demos. After hearing the demos, drummer Dean Lacey expressed an interest in the music and worked with Matt and Jonny over the winter before joining the band in spring 2009 to complete the line-up. Since then they have been writing, recording and performing their own material.
