FORMER local schoolgirl and performer Ruth Calkin returns to town with one of the hottest touring children’s show.

Ruth will be helping to bring to life the children’s favourite brother and sister show, Charlie and Lola in their best bestest play.

Ruth has been living out of a suitcase for the last 12 years but is coming home to the Princes Theatre where she appeared as a teenager.

She grew up in Beaumont-cum-Moze and went to Tendring Primary, Manningtree School and then Colchester Sixth Form College, specialising from an early age in music and drama, playing Clarinet and Saxophone and studying Music, Theatre Studies and English for A Level.

She attended the Tiffany Stage Academy from 1981-1993, getting lots of early professional theatre experience including five years as a child in Clacton’s summer season Cascade Review at the West Cliff Theatre plus productions at the Mercury Theatre, Colchester.
