Jaywick: Teenager given Asbo for "mindless" vandalism


A TEENAGER has been given an Asbo following “mindless” acts of vandalism and antisocial behaviour in Jaywick.

Ryan Georgiou, 17, of Alvis Avenue, Jaywick, was given an antisocial behaviour order at Harwich Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Georgiou had been given an interim Asbo in August, but following an application by Essex Police, magistrates granted a full order against him.

Essex Police spokesman Donna Veasey said: “Ryan Georgiou has been linked to mindless acts of vandalism and various acts of anti-social behaviour.

“He has exhibited on a constant and regular basis little regard or respect for his neighbours or the residents of Jaywick.”

The order prohibits Georgiou from intentionally threatening, abusing or intimidating anyone, including using insulting or abusive words or gestures, or inciting others to do so He is also not allowed to interfere with any property belonging to someone else without their permission, or be in possession of a bb gun or air rifle.

He is also banned from being in a group of three or more people in a public place in a manner that causes harassment, alarm or distress.

The order has been imposed until March 3, 2012.
