A LONG-AWAITED surgery could open in Clacton in less than two years after health chiefs gave it their backing.
Work on the new GP practice in Kennedy Way is expected to start next January if there are no stumbling blocks.
The project should be completed by the end of next year.
Health chiefs say the new surgery will provide state-of-the-art facilities for patents and staff.
It will replace the existing surgery in North Road.
Practice manager April Piercy said: “All the staff, doctors and patients are very excited at this positive news."
A planning application is expected to be lodged by the end of the month.
