A MAN was repeatedly punched, kicked and stamped on outside a Clacton night club.
The 42-year-old suffered extensive facial injuries after he was attacked by a group of between six and ten men outside Rumours in Rosemary Road.
Police were contacted by the ambulance service on Sunday*may 4* at about 1am.
The victim had been taken to Colchester General Hospital when officers arrived at the scene.
He is now recovering at home.
Detectives say the man, who had been enjoying an evening out with friends and family, had previously been inside the club but left when a fight had developed on a stairwell.
He exited the venue but was accosted by the gang.
DC Phil Parish, investigating officer, said: "A few days on and we are still not sure exactly what led to the fight inside the club and then the one otuside which has left a man with extensive injuries.
"We are looking to speak to people who witnessed either assault so we can identify the culprits."
The assailants are described as black and in their lates teens or early 20s.
