A SERIOUS accident closed the A120 towards Harwich today.
It is understood a lorry driver is in a critical condition following the collision on the eastbound carriageway just after 5am.
The road was closed between the A133 roundabout at Frating and the B1025 turn-off at Horsley Cross.
An Essex Police spokesman said officers from Stanway Road Policing Unit were first at the scene and blocked the road.
He described the collision as serious and said a man had sustained what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.
