POLICE Community Support Officers (PCSOs) could be given night vision binoculars to cut crime in Frinton and Walton.
Frinton and Walton Town Council has been asked to pay for the military-style equipment to help in the fight against antisocial behaviour and damage on the promenade.
Walton police wants councillors to consider buying the £300 binoculars, but one councillor has already questioned the need for the council to pay for the police to have equipment more suited to a war zone.
Sgt John Scott also asked the council to spend £895 on a speed camera and £200 on a digital camera and printer, to help in the battle against graffiti.
