Clacton: Carnival needs helpers

CLACTON Carnival notched up a success story this year with record takings and a strong committee.

But the 54th Carnival Association meeting last week heard that both the chairman and secretary will be retiring at the end of next year.

Chairman Mr Alan Wiggins will be standing down after 30 years and secretary Mrs Betty Dawson will also leave at the next agm so it is hoped to recruit replacements to be led through the work next year by the current officers.
