THE quick actions of firefighters stopped a shed fire from causing too much damage to a home in Clacton.

Two crews from Clacton fire station were called to the blaze in Warwick Road at about 1pm.

Crews reported on arrival that the fire had spread rapidly, affecting four sheds and fencing.

A spokesman for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: "Thanks to their hard work, damage to the bungalow was restricted to the external parts of the property only.

"The shed the fire started in has been completely destroyed.

"The cause of the fire is unknown."

Firefighters extinguished the fire by 1.26pm.
