A WOMAN died in hospital after suffering a severe infection following a caesarean section.
Kimberley Jeffries, 29, died at Colchester General Hospital just weeks after she underwent the surgery.
An inquest into her death was opened and adjourned at Essex Coroner's Court, in Chelmsford.
The inquest heard Mrs Jeffries lived in Clacton with her husband and had been discharged from hospital after undergoing the caesarean section on April 3.
But she was readmitted later that month and sadly died on April 18.
Eleanor Mcgann, area coroner, recorded the primary cause of death as multiple organ failure due to severe sepsis.
The inquest was adjourned until Friday, November 30.
