A PLUCKY pensioner challenged a brazen burglar she caught ransacking her home in Dovercourt.
A 90-year-old woman called the police after she found a man searching through her bedroom drawer in Gravel Hill Way at about 11.45pm on Monday.
She challenged the suspect before he fled with a TV and a purse with hundreds of pounds of cash.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We are continuing to support the victim.
"We would urge anyone with information, dash cam footage or CCTV to contact DC Hollie Hughes at Clacton CID on 101 quoting crime reference 42/86030/18 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
