A WOMAN and a teenager have been arrested after Class A drugs were seized during a raid in Clacton.

Officers from Clacton police station joined Essex Police's North Operation Raptor team to execute a warrant at a property in the Groom Park area on Thursday.

The operation was aimed at targeting a "drugs line" in the town.

A 48-year-old woman from Clacton and a 17-year-old man from London were arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

The force said a "large" quantity of what is believed to be Class A drugs was seized along with mobile phones and cash.

Both suspects have been released on bail pending examination of the substances.

Insp Darren Deex, from the Tendring Community Policing Team, said: "We will continue to work alongside our Op Raptor colleagues to target those who are hurting our community the most through the supply of illegal drugs.

"Our message to those who deal in Class A drugs is clear - we don't want it here and we will do our best to make life as difficult as possible for you.

"I would urge members of the public who have information regarding the supply of drugs in Tendring to contact us.

"We will act upon your information and we need to work together to disrupt their activity as much as we can."

Essex Police set up Operation Raptor teams to target those involved in drug and gang-related crime across the county.
