HUNDREDS of pounds worth of stock have been stolen in a raid on a hair salon in Frinton.

Charles Timbs Hair and Beauty, on the junction of Connaught Avenue and Pole Barn Lane, was broken into between 10pm last Wednesday and 8.30am on Thursday.

Eight pairs of GHD straighteners were taken, worth between £135 and £165 each, hair clippers worth about £250 and a black Mulberry hold-all bag costing £100.

The till’s £60 cash float was also taken during the burglary.

Owner Charles, 25, moved his salon from Walton to Frinton in July last year and heard news of the break-in while on holiday in Turkey.

“It’s made me feel really saddened someone would stoop so low to do this,” he said.

“We’re not sure what has happened but the police are looking into it.

“We never had any problems or anything like this happen when the salon was in Walton.

“There’s a proper community there – we never experienced anything like this.

“I was out on a trip when I was told the news. It definitely put a sad end to it.

“It’s more than losing more than £1,000 because I’m going to have to replace all the stock.”

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

A force spokesman for the force said crooks got into the premises through the back of the property.

He added: “A designer handbag, cash from the tills, hair straighteners, clippers and bottles of hair products were taken.”

Charles is offering a cash reward if anyone comes forward with information relating to the burglary.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call the police on 101 and quote reference number 42/64479/18.
