PARTS of Frinton railway station have been resurfaced as part of a £300,000 project across the rail network.
More than 2,000 square metres of tarmac has been laid across the Greater Anglia network – enough to cover eight tennis courts.
Since the start of the year resurfacing work has taken place at platforms, car parks and access roads leading to some stations, including at Frinton-on Sea, Dovercourt and Colchester Town stations.
Simone Bailey, Greater Anglia’s asset management director, said: “We manage 133 stations, which means we have to carry out a lot of ongoing maintenance work.
“We do our best to make sure the stations look as smart as possible.
“By investing in tarmacking certain areas, it has helped to make the stations safer.
“We want our stations to be bright and welcoming places, so we will continue with our plans to repaint and deep clean every station on our network.”
