A GUTSY godmother is planning on skydiving from 10,000ft to raise cash for a hospital ward which helps her young godson.

Sarah Moule, 32, will be taking to the sky in August and facing her fear of heights to raise funds for the Royal Brompton Hospital’s Rose Ward.

The mother of one is godmother to 16-month-old Sonny-Lee Cook, who suffers from critical congenital heart disease.

The tot was born prematurely last December and major deficiencies to both his heart and kidneys means he faces an uncertain future.

Sonny, has undergone a number of treatments at the London hospital and his big sister, Bobby-Jean Cook has raised thousands for the hospital.

Sarah, of Talbot Avenue, Jaywick, will be taking on the challenge on August 25 in Maidstone, Kent, where she will be joined by all of Sonny’s family and her 13-year-old son George Moule. She said: “I decided to take on the challenge last year, but I was too late to take part, so I pushed it back to this year.

“I wanted to help Sonny-Lee’s sister, Bobby-Jean and help her in her efforts of raising money for the ward which helped her brother.”

After meeting one of Sonny-Lee’s doctors in the hospital, Sarah was inspired by the medical professionals’ work in the hospital.

She said: “It’s amazing to see the difference the Brompton Hospital can have.

“If I hadn’t have met Sonny, I wouldn’t have even known about congenital heart disease.

“His family were shocked when I told them I was doing it, but this is something I’ve wanted to do and I will be facing my fears. I see what this little boy goes through and he faces his fears on a daily basis.

“I’m really excited to do it.”

Sonny-Lee’s mum Danell Dreelan said: “I think Sarah’s nuts for doing this but it’s nice that people want to help. Sarah is my best friend and Sonny-Lee’s godmother and she has been with us every step if his journey.”
