SCHOOL pupils have been offered the unique opportunity to explore careers in the medicine and healthcare professions.

Youngsters at Clacton Coastal Academy took part in an employability day run by Generation Medics and got involved with a variety of fun activities.

The activities help the pupils explore how different health careers fit in the NHS and offered hands-on operating theatre sessions to find out what life is like as a real health professional.

Generation Medics director Dr Hinnah Rafique said: “We help young people to consider healthcare as a credible future career option through fun hands-on activities and using our expertise in teaching and learning.

“We help them to explore careers in health and should they decide it is what they want to pursue, we can support them to succeed in their future health career.

“We are delighted at the reaction of the pupils to the activities we delivered at Clacton Coastal Academy.

“The Generation Medics team of health professionals were on hand throughout the day to answer questions and offer handy insights to pupils.”

Clacton Coastal Academy principal Stephanie Neill said the day had helped to inspire and empower pupils.

She said: “We are delighted to be working with Generation Medics. Our vision at Clacton Coastal Academy is that we prepare students for successful employment.

“Generation Medics are helping us open the eyes of students to a wide range of future careers they have never considered before.”
