A TEENAGER caught driving without a licence will be forced to complete unpaid work.
Charlie Barry, 18, was behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta when he was pulled over in Coppins Road, Clacton.
He told police he was driving a friend’s car and was also found with a small amount of cannabis and cocaine.
Barry, of Windsor Avenue, Clacton, had been misled about who the car belonged to.
At Colchester Magistrates’ Court, he admitted driving a car without the owner’s consent, driving without a licence and insurance and possession of cocaine and cannabis.
Barry has no previous convictions so magistrates opted to hand him a 12-month community order with 80 hours of unpaid work.
He must also pay £170 in court charges.
His licence will be endorsed with six points once he passes a driving test.
