A SCHEME to build a new home in part of an open field in the countryside has been turned down by a Government Inspector.
Outline plans for the site next to Lilac Cottage in Heath Road, Tendring, were originally refused planning consent by Tendring Council last summer.
However, the applicants appealed the decision in an effort to have it overturned on appeal.
Inspector Grahame Gould decided that the proposal would have an adverse effect on the character and appearance of what is a rural location.
