RESIDENTS of Frinton were treated to a visit from the Bishop of the Diocese of Chelmsford last week.
Bishop Stephen Cottrell visited the golf club and was given a putting lesson from the club professional Tom Hide.
The bishop’s attendance was part of a walking tour, which has included east London and all of Essex.
During his trip he went to Connaught Avenue where he visited Caxton’s Book Shop and was given a sausage and burger masterclass by John Wright, the owner of Wrights Independent Butchers.
The bishop took took a short break in the Lock and Barrel for a question and answer session with residents, councillors and the resident’s association.
At the end of his trip Sam Puttick, the children’s worker at St Mary’s Parish Church, accompanied the bishop along the promenade to Walton where the tour continued.
