A NEW retail unit based in Connaught Avenue is set to create 15 new full and part-time job positions.

Tendring Council have given the go ahead to join up two properties on Frinton High Street to create one large retail unit.

The ground floor will become a retail unit for McKays and staff accommodation and stock areas above.

The two properties were originally an electrical retail unit and the other was a restaurant with a dental surgery above.

Now, changes will be made to the shopfront as well as other alterations, however the footprint is virtually unchanged.

Deliveries will be carried out via Connaught Avenue before 9am, twice a week and a condition was imposed to restrict opening hours from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 11am to 5pm on Sundays and bank holidays.

Essex County Council as highway authority had no objection as it was believed that the proposal would not lead to traffic increase and Frinton and Walton Town Council had no objection to the application.
