A TALENTED team of story tellers captured the imagination of visitors over the bank holiday.

The Harwich Society hosted a story telling event at Ha’Penny Pier Visitor Centre on Monday, August 28.

This was the third year the event has taken place and it has become extremely popular with visitors of all ages.

This year the event was led by author June Bretherton, and featured Mary Lake, Rosemary Quaintance, Marian Heath and Lesley Elliot.

There was also a repeat of Bernie Sadler’s story telling walk which proved extremely popular last year.

Lesley Elliot, who co-ordinates children’s activities at the Harwich Society’s Ha-Penny Pier Visitor Centre, said: “This is the third year we have run the event but the first time we have done it over one day on a bank holiday to see how it would go.

“The day started out a little slowly but as the day built up we saw about 70 children throughout the day listening to stories.

“At some points we had a room full of children.”
