LIVE acoustic and roots music is returning after a summer break to a popular pub in Manningtree.

The Red Lion, in South Street, will be hosting a night of live music from Tony James Shevlin and Honey and Bear.

Tony James Shevlin has extensively toured America, and has called his new record American Odyssey after being inspired by the country.

His songs are renowned for their clever lyrics, and he has written songs for acclaimed bands, including REM.

His appearance in Manningtree is an opportunity to hear his songs and listen to the stories that inspired them.

Sharing the bill will be Honey and the Bear, the duo formed by Lucy Sampson and Jon Hart in 2014.

They have received widespread acclaim and are in great demand to appear at festivals and venues across the country.

Between them they play a variety of instruments, sing brilliant harmonies and have original songs inspired by East Anglia.

The performances will be held on Saturday, September 2. Tickets cost £10 and doors open at 8pm.
