THREE men were stopped and arrested by police for drug driving, the production of cannabis and suspicion of breaching a court warrant.

Officers from Harwich policing team stopped a car in Church Hill, Ramsey, at about 1.30pm on Tuesday, August 22.

An Essex Police spokesman said: “On stopping and searching a vehicle, they located a male wanted in connection with drug supply.

“One of the passengers, confident that they were keeping out of trouble, was fully co-operative.

“Unfortunately it turns out they were wanted for breaching a court order.

“The final nail in the coffin was when the driver was drug tested at the roadside and arrested for driving whilst unfit through drugs.”

A 33-year-old man from Harwich was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and was released under investigation. A 22-year-old man from Harwich was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of cannabis and later released under investigation.

A 26-year-old man from Northolt, Middlesex, was arrested on suspicion of breaching a court warrant and was transferred to court on Wednesday, August 23.

A resident, who asked not to be named, said the men were arrested outside his bungalow in Field Rise, Ramsey.

He said: “We did not hear what was said, but someone told us it was a drug stop.

“The white car was seized by the police and taken away on Tuesday evening.”
