CELEBRITIES are set to come face to face with their paranormal fears as they take part in a ghost hunting show live on air in Harwich.

Hosting the brand new programme, Celebrity Ghost Hunt Live, from the Redoubt Fort is Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’s Rylan Clark-Neal.

The famous contestants on the show include Love Island’s Chris Hughes, Celebrity Big Brother winner Stephen Bear, Geordie Shore’s Charlotte Crosby, Ex on the Beach star Charlotte Dawson and Ampika Pickston from Real Housewives of Cheshire.

The show, which is being broadcast on 5STAR next month, will take stars around the fort at nightfall where psychic Ian Lawman and his team of paranormal investigators will spend the night in the Napoleonic fort.

A Celebrity Ghost Hunt Live spokesman said Rylan is a great open minded believer in all things paranormal and he will be quite anxious when heading around the fort.

He said: “The most important thing is that this is not a show to scare the celebrities, but they will be taught by some of the best paranormal experts in the UK.

“This will be exciting for the viewers as the programme will be filmed and broadcast live.

“Rylan is in charge of the celebrities and he is an Essex boy himself who doesn’t live all that far away from Harwich.

“Chris Hughes, who was in the most recent series of Love Island, is probably going to be the most scared contestant on the show.

“Ampika is quite spiritual and very sensitive to the paranormal and I expect she will find the experience enlightening.”

The Redoubt Fort was chosen by producers for being one of the most “significant paranormal locations in the country” where people have said to have sighted spirits of soldiers.

He added: “The Harwich Society should be congratulated and we are thrilled to have the fort aired on national TV as it is a beautiful historic piece of infrastructure.

“As a location it’s all in one place and we love it and we are very excited to see if there are paranormal activities there.”

Garry Calver, Harwich Society press officer, said: “In recent years the Redoubt Fort has become a significant location for paranormal investigation and this programme is part of this ongoing interest.

“Thanks to these investigations, The Harwich Society has been able to fund the installation of a stairlift and disabled toilets. There are clearly many good reasons for visiting Harwich’s Redoubt Fort.”
