PUPILS at Clacton Coastal Academy celebrated in style at their year 11 prom.

The event was described as a “fantastic evening” to remember the departure of the final year students.

All the pupils were dressed to impress and arrived in style on classic cars, motorbikes, a fire truck, Rolls Royces and even on horseback.

School spokesman Lynda Baksh said: “The ladies looked simply stunning whilst the men looked handsome, making us all so very proud.”

During the celebratory evening the Lewis McKurr and Jolie Jerram were crowned prom king and queen.

Lynda said: “The atmosphere was electric and the photographer was busy. There wasn’t a moment I passed the casino to see it empty, it was in use all night.

“The photo booth was a hit, Mr Vickers’ food hit the spot and there was plenty of dancing.”

After much deliberation three contestants were up for the winner of best arrival, which was finally awarded to George Wolton, who arrived on a large lorry.
