A BURNHAM bowls club have purchased a new spreader thanks to funding from the Magnox Socio-Economic Scheme.
Burnham Hillside Bowls Club applied to Magnox for funding for a new pedestrian granular spreader for their bowling green.
The bowls club’s green team, a group of dedicated volunteers, have to ensure that the correct feed is applied at the right levels on the green to keep it healthy.
However, their spreader had become unfit for purpose and has such a new one had to be purchased.
The Magnox scheme were able to provide £250 towards the cost of the new spreader.
Graham Pinch, head green keeper, said that the new spreader will help with the continuous care of Burnham’s bowling green, which is well respected by its members and visiting clubs.
