HOLLAND FC have been handed a short trip to Wivenhoe Town when they make their debut in next season’s FA Vase.

The coastal side will be playing in the prestigious competition for the first time in their history and will head to the newly-named GMP Plant Hire Stadium for a first-round qualifying tie on September 9.

The winners will then travel to either Stansted or Wodson Park on September 27.

Ironically, the sides were also paired together in next season’s League Challenge Cup.

Holland will travel to Wivenhoe for a second-round tie on on November 7.

“We’re really excited about playing in the Vase,” said proud Holland chairman Mark Sorrell.

“It’s a real milestone for our club, to play in it for the first time, and it’s a decent draw against Wivenhoe.

“We can’t wait and would love to put some kind of run together.”

Holland began their pre-season campaign with a 1-0 victory against Brantham Athletic on Saturday, thanks to a late goal from Chris Ribchester.

They host Stanway Rovers at Dulwich Road on Saturday (3pm) before heading to West Bergholt on Tuesday (6.30pm).

Elsewhere in the Vase draw, FC CLACTON will entertain Coggeshall Town.

If they get through, the Seasiders will be away to Redbridge or Brantham Athletic.

In the FA Cup extra preliminary round, Clacton will host Clapton on August 5.

Then in the preliminary round, if they get through, they will be at home to Norwich United on August 19.

In the FA Trophy, BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT have been handed a first qualifying round trip to Thamesmead Town or AFC Hornchurch on October 28.
