A COUNCIL is appealing for volunteers to help with the new parkrun launching in Burnham.
The parkrun is a 5k event that will take runners around Riverside Park.
The parkrun team are looking for volunteers to help the event become a success.
The events will be held every Saturday from 9am, and volunteers will be asked to help set up the course, marshal the run, and deliver a quality service to participants.
Councillor Bob Boyce MBE, chairman of the community services committee, said: “Riverside Park is a great park and well loved by the people of Burnham. This new parkrun is a great addition to the park for residents and visitors alike.
“It is great to hear that there are volunteering opportunities available via the parkrun for the local community to take up.”
Carly Stevenson, event director, added: “Without a team of great volunteers parkrun would not be possible and we are grateful to them all. We hope that all our volunteering family find it rewarding and important enjoyable to host parkrun.”
