A FRESH appeal was launched on BBC's Crimewatch Roadshow over the disappearance of a missing Clacton dad.

Diana Mays, of Colchester, reiterated how out of character her brother Nigel Kedar's disappearance is while speaking on the programme.

The dad-of-one was last seen on April 4 in Thelverton, Norfolk, some time between 9am and 10am after withdrawing £100 from a cash machine in Long Stratton.

Detective Chief Inspector Marie James, of Norfolk Constabulary, accompanied Mrs Mays, 52, on TV and issued a new plea for information.

Mrs Mays urged her brother to "call someone to tell them he’s okay".

She added: "Whatever it is he thinks he can’t come home for, we’re a strong family we can sort it. He’s loved. We just want him home.”

Appeal - Diana Mays and DCI Marie James on this morning's show

Searches in the Thelveton area on June 11 - where CCTV shows Nigel walking southbound through Dickleburgh towards Ipswich - brought no fresh leads for police.

The investigation is continuing with specialist officers and assistance from the Norfolk Lowland Search and Rescue (NorLSAR).

After the BBC appearance this morning, Nigel's parents issued their own emotional public appeal for the first time.

They said: "We love and miss you and long to be with you again, or at least know you are alright with whatever you are doing now.

"We love you and love conquers all. Whatever has happened, you will always be our son and we can help you, if you need it.

"Your sisters, brother and your son - our grandson - are also struggling with your disappearance.

"Please be in touch if you can. We all love you."

Officers are keen to speak with members of the public who may have seen Nigel on or after April 4.

He had travelled from Clacton to Norwich two days earlier for a night out and stayed with a female friend overnight.

DCI James said: "I would ask members of the public to think what they were doing specifically between Sunday, April 2 and Tuesday, April 4.

"Nigel was seen walking on Queens Road at 4pm on Monday, April 3. He was not seen again until 6.30am on the Tuesday when he purchased some water from the petrol station in Long Stratton.

"Nigel's movements during this period may give us an insight into where he was heading and what his intentions were.

"If you saw him, spoke with him or have any information please get in touch.”

He is described as being white, 5ft 11 tall, of a large build and has short hair.

He was wearing dark coloured trousers with a lighter coloured long sleeved shirt and has a distinctive gold tooth.

Anyone with information should contact Norfolk Constabulary immediately on 999.
