THE director of a children’s play centre which closed suddenly said deposits for parties had been repaid.

Michael Wulleart, 30, had handed over than £150 for his son's fifth birthday party before finding out the indoor play centre had suddenly closed.

However, Space Kingdom director Caroline Hunt, attributed the mix-up to a miscommunication having being unable to reach the family.

She said all parties had been contacted and any deposits returned.

Mrs Hunt said: "In regards to Mr Wulleart, Space Kingdom held no up-to-date records to enable us to inform them of the situation.

"On their booking reference form the contact number we had for Rebecca Duggan was unavailable and no other contact details were provided.

"She informed us her mobile phone was being repaired. Thankfully, we've been able to speak with Rebecca in relation to her son Kennedy’s party and she's pleased with the response she received from us."

The centre is currently closed for two weeks due to unforeseen circumstances, but Mrs Hunt is hopeful about it reopening in the future.

Her husband, the centre's former owner Ray Hunt, passed away from cancer earlier this year, aged 47.
