ESSEX comedian Russell Kane is back on home soil when he brings his one-man show to Clacton’s West Cliff Theatre tomorrow night.

The multi-award-winning funnyman and self-proclaimed pug-lover returns with new show Right Man, Wrong Age.

He looks at the paradox of being a pensioner with the sex drive of a bonobo chimp, or a 20-something going on 60.

His comedy career has gone from strength to strength since winning the Laughing Horse new act of the year in 2004.

Two years later he took his debut show The Theory of Pretension to the Edinburgh Fringe, where he was nominated for a comedy award.

His Gaping Flaws show was also nominated in 2008.

In 2009, he returned to Edinburgh with the play Fakespeare and stand-up show Human Dressage. Fakespeare was a sell-out success and went on tour in 2010, while Human Dressage saw him nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for the third time.

Russell finally bagged the prize in 2010 before going on to make history as the first comedian to win both the Edinburgh Award and Melbourne Comedy Festival Award in one year.

He has performed with Russell Howard and Reginald D Hunter, presented Big Brother’s Big Mouth, appeared on various comedy panels, and been seen on the Beeb’s Live at the Apollo.

He has also presented ITV2’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! Now!, won the Children in Need edition of Celebrity Mastermind and last year led the travel series Stupid Man, Smart Phone.

In his new show, Russell unleashes another blisteringly-funny, award-winning stand-up performance about growing up and growing down.

Tomorrow night’s show is almost sold out.
