A 17-YEAR-OLD boy will appear at court charged with being over the limit at the wheel of a suspected stolen car.
The teenager, from Wickford, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested at 1am on Sunday, April 2 after police stopped a car in Nethermayne, Basildon.
Nobody else was with him.
The boy was taken to Basildon police station where he was questioned and later charged.
He will appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, May 4, charged with four separate driving offences.
He will face charges of drink-driving on April 2 and taking a vehicle without consent overnight between April 1 and 2.
He was also charged with driving without insurance on April 2 and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence on the same date.
He was released on bail for the hearing at the magistrates’ court.
