A PUPPET horse proved the most popular attraction as more than a dozen vintage rides which once stood pride of place on Clacton Pier were sold off at auction.
A Muffin the Mule ride, based on the popular television show which ran through the 1940s and 50s, fetched £440 when it was sold off by auctioneers Reeman Dansie, based in Wyncolls Road, Colchester.
The auctioneers sold off more than a dozen rides which also featured Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse, and made close to £3,500.
A Postman Pat ride was also popular, fetching £340.
Collectables expert Michael Bowles said: "It went extremely well.
"Of course, Postman Pat is very popular even now with children and Muffin the Mule will appeal to children who are a bit older.
"Overall it was a really fantastic sale, we had some lead soldiers which went really well and some really good sellers from a house clearance in London with some Chanel items which fetched sums into the thousands."
