OVERDEVELOPMENT at a nursery site has led to a planning application being opposed by Frinton and Walton Town Council.

The councillors also cited ‘the site being against backland development in a conservation area’ and the ‘road being too narrow to serve an additional property’ as reasons to vote against the proposal for one more dwelling at Great Holland Nurseries on Church Lane.

Principal Homes Ltd first submitted the application to Tendring Council in November 2016.

Vanda Watling for Frinton sympathised with residents living next door to the Great Holland nursery, who have already lost a portion of their open space nearby.

Great Holland ward councillor, Chris Keston, added: “They’re lucky enough to have gotten the planning permission for two dwellings, let alone three.

“Residents aren’t happy with the two and also it will be overdeveloped.”

There were also concerns for the safety of both the access and exit for the property onto Church Lane.

The final decision will rest with Tendring Council's planning committee.
