AN e-fit of a suspected conman wanted in connection with an attempted distraction burglary in Clacton has been released by police.
Two men knocked on the door of an address in Ramplings Avenue at around 3pm on January 5.
The victim - a woman in her 80s - answered, they claimed they were there to check her fireplace.
A police spokesman said: "One of the men invited himself in and started to search the property while the other stood outside.
"The pair left when they were challenged by a neighbour. It is not believed anything was taken."
Officers are keen to trace the man pictured.
Anyone who recognises him or knows where he is should contact PC Keith Hewitt at Clacton police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
