A CLACTON dog-lover has created a website to help dog-lovers meet other dog lovers.

Carl Brereton believes his website is unique and is Britain’s “Biggest Dog Social Network.”

It lets owners show off their dogs and meet other dog owners.

The 50-year-old credits his own pooch, named Captain, for the idea.

“My dog is an African Boer Bel, which is from the Mastiff family. He’s three years old and is beautifully natured. I meet other people with their dogs and we get talking,” he said.

“That is what gave me the idea. Why didn’t I build a website for dog owners, where they can socialise, get together and have walks together. There is nothing like it as far as I am aware. I think it’s the first of its kind.”

Carl, who lives in Carnarvon Road, is a painter and decorator by trade but he taught himself to build websites, which he does in his spare time.

“This website took a week to make and is probably one of my quickest websites. I have had websites that have taken me months to build, but I knew what I wanted to do with this and what I wanted to put on it,” he said.

The website is www.the-dogpound.uk.
