A MAN had to be cut free from a vehicle after a crash.

Firefighters were called to to the accident on Little Clacton Road, Clacton, at 7.20pm on Friday.

Two crews from Clacton used specialist cutting equipment to release one male from a vehicle.

A woman was also injured in the accident.

Both casualties were left in the care of the Ambulance Service at 8.30pm.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We sent three ambulance crews and an ambulance officer to this collision following a call at 7.15pm.

"They treated two patients – a woman with hip pain and a man who had been trapped.

"Both were taken to Colchester General Hospital for further treatment.

"Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or serious."
