DOLLY Parton's smash hit 9 To 5 hits the stage as Clacton Musical Theatre Society return following the amazing success of January's Cinderella pantomime.

Based on the hilarious comedy movie the plot centres on three female office workers who turn the tables on their sexist boss. Outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic, 9 To 5 is about teaming up and taking care of business.

Cassie Weston is back in the lead role after her astonishing performance as Cinders earlier this year.

She plays Doralee - a feisty western chick, who is out to get revenge on her sexist egotistical boss, helped by pals Judy (Jennifer Richardson) and Violet (Sam Slim).

Former Essex University student Cassie performed in many productions during her degree such as 'Nights at the Circus' at Colchester's Mercury Theatre and Scott Morgan's 'Quite Average Jane' - now known as 'Geek' - in the West End.

She now teaches drama and performing arts at Clacton Coastal Academy.

Jennifer recently moved to the area from London after working for 15 years in professional theatre and media. She now teaches yoga and dance and is looking forward to her first production with CMTS

Sam has been with the society for 26 years, playing a number of roles including principal boy eight times.

Her personal favourites are Charity in 'Sweet Charity' and Nancy in 'Oliver'.

After graduating university with a first class performing arts degree, she worked professionally as a dancer and singer abroad. Returning to the UK in 2002 she became a performing arts teacher at Clacton Coastal Academy and is now head of expressive arts.

Hit songs from the original Backward Barbie, Shine Like the Sun and 9 To 5 are all there in the adult musical.

The society's Jackie West said: "The whole cast have been tirelessly rehearsing and it will be a wonderful uplifting musical evening."

The production is at Clacton's Princes Theatre from June 22-25. Shows are at 7.30pm with a 2.30pm Saturday matinee.

Tickets are £14 (£9 stalls) from the box office on 01255 686633.
