A TEENAGER was in a stand-off with police for almost 11 hours after climbing out of a window onto a ledge in Jaywick.

The 17-year-old man had been stood on a first-floor ledge above the Tudor Parade shops in Marlowe Road from 10.30am.

The area below him was cordoned off and police and paramedics were on the scene.

He said: "He was throwing bits of plastic at people below from the ledge.

"Police went up into the property behind him but he closed the window on them.
