PUPILS at a special school brought history to life with an activity-packed Tudor day.

Excited pupils at Clacton’s Shorefields School were treated to a visit from a specialist company that transported them back in time.

Youngsters came to school in Tudor costumes and enjoyed a day of activities, including hands-on workshops making spice bags, trying on period armour and taking in a puppet show.

Parents were invited into the school in the afternoon to join in with a big Tudor dancing event.

The day was organised to get children excited about their ongoing history project.

Teacher Alison Matzkiw said: “It was a brilliant opportunity for our pupils to experience the Tudor ways and really helped bring everything to life for them.

“Everybody got involved and really engaged with it.

“It can be difficult for us to go out and experience something like this, so it was amazing to have it coming into the school so everyone could take part.

“It was brilliant and everybody loved dressing up and getting stuck in.”
