CLACTON town centre's Christmas tree has been carefully lowered into place for the festive season.
The 30ft tree cost £860 and has been donated by Clacton Factory Outlet.
It has been decorated with 8,000 LED lights and 400 baubles.
A Tendring Council spokesman said: “It is a splendid tree and will remain in the town square until it is taken down in early January.
“I am certain that shoppers and traders will see it as a vital part of the town’s seasonal festivities.”
The official switch on of the town’s Christmas lights will be performed on December 5 by boy band Five star Scott Robinson, who is starring in Aladdin at the Princes Theatre.
