THE face of a suspected burglar from Colchester will be broadcast across the country as part of an attempt to catch the nations’ most wanted.

Reece Jode is wanted for questioning in connection with four burglaries including the attempted theft of mountain bikes and a kayak from a Colchester school.

Crimestoppers is marking ten years of its most wanted gallery by touring big screens up and down the UK featuring the faces of those eluding police.

Jode, 22, formerly of Alexandra Terrace and who was last known to be living in Colchester, is among the suspects.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Detectives want to question Reece Jode in connection with four burglaries in Colchester between April and September this year.

“The Gilberd School in Brinkley Lane was broken into between April 24 and 27.

“Officers also want to speak to Reece Jode about burglaries in Abbeyfield View on July 29, John Kent Avenue on August 30 and Inglis Road on September 12, 2015.”

The 800 mile Crimestoppers tour will feature several suspects from across England, Wales and Scotland with three vans driving through various citiies and towns this week.

Suspects include those wanted on suspicion of murder, sexual offences, burglary, robbery, assault and domestic violence.

In ten years the Crimestoppers’ most wanted online gallery has list 12,524 appeals with 3,589 arrests.

It attracts about 30,000 views every month.

UPDATE

Essex Police also issued an appeal to find Alex Searle, wanted on suspicion of breaching a court order imposed by Chelmsford Crown Court in May 2015 in relation to an offence of burglary.

Following the media appeal the 24-year-old was arrested in Brightlingsea just before midnight last night.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court today.
